"Prepping is a hassle"
It's a real hassle to get ready, there's no meat choice, and the menu's not in English.

"Delicious Vegetarian Feasts from Simple Feast"
The meals from Simple Feast are genuinely tasty. They're super easy to prepare and totally scrumptious. Our family of three really loves the full vegetarian spread they offer. However, one drawback is the size of the delivery box, which creates a lot of waste. The packaging claims it's compostable, but it only breaks down in a commercial composting facility, and we don't have one of those around here.

"A Carnivore's Take on Vegan Meals"
For nearly a year now, I've been enjoying Simple Feast. As a die-hard meat lover married to a vegan, I also have a passion for cooking and experimenting with different cuisines. The meals from Simple Feast are so remarkable that we find ourselves enjoying dishes that once seemed out of reach and required a ton of effort. I can't help but rave about the incredible flavors and the intricate nature of our dinners, plus it's just fantastic to have such delightful meals prepared with ease.
"Meals Designed by a Michelin Star Chef: Organic and Plant-Based!"
I got my delivery with three meals inside. Right off the bat, I noticed the eco-friendly packaging. Everything was either recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, or mostly plant-based. Simple Feast is the first brand I've come across that really gets the struggle of finding commercial composting options and is dedicated to making it easier for customers.
Now, about the meals: I'm someone who usually cooks by feel and rarely follows recipes. But these recipes were straightforward and even inspired me to tweak things a bit. It was refreshing to use a recipe as a loose guide without feeling boxed in. Still, it would be awesome if there were options to customize. For instance, I tried the spinach pakora burgers, but I always go for burgers without the bread. I would’ve liked to indicate that beforehand to avoid tossing the bread, as I aim for zero waste.
The meals were delicious, the portions were satisfying, and this experience has sparked some creativity that I’ll carry into my next home-cooked meal.
I highly recommend this service for (i) the variety of meals, (ii) the simplicity of prep, and (iii) how well the brand aligns with my values (plant-based and sustainability-focused). Oh, and did I mention Simple Feast is a B Corp? That means they meet top-notch standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, balancing profit with purpose.
"Absolutely amazing meals and..."
These meals are just fantastic and super simple to whip up. I really can’t express how awesome this is!
"Quick, delicious meals made easy"
We really enjoy all the meals we order from Simple Feast. The most time we take to whip up a meal is around 15 to 20 minutes, and then we get to enjoy a tasty, fresh dish. They offer a great selection of food from various cuisines, which keeps things exciting.

"We Went Full Vegan Thanks to Amazing Food"
Honestly, I can't recall ever writing a review before. After trying out Simple Feast for a couple of months, we made the leap to full veganism. The meals are super tasty and a breeze to whip up. There were some ingredients I wasn't familiar with, and since not everything was labeled, I had to look some up or take a wild guess now and then. We had one or two times where a couple of ingredients were missing, but they sorted it out quickly and without any hassle. I've got nothing but positive vibes about this company.

"Good food, but I can't finish it in time..."
The food is tasty, but there are a few downsides. I can't whip this up in 15 minutes like they say. I really need to get a grip on what I'm supposed to do. The packets aren't labeled by what's inside; they just have recipe numbers from 1 to 5. I find myself reading the instructions multiple times to match everything up, since one recipe usually has three different components. If there are things I need to prepare, they should be listed first, not starting with heating the zucchini puree. Then it says to chop veggies X, Y, and Z. You wouldn't believe how fast I can chop! So, by the time the hot part is done, the salad is still sitting there and gets cold. And hey, I'm no chef; I can tell a tomato from a cucumber, but what's the difference between miso and soy sauce? Or coriander sauce and pesto? Please, label those packages! Also, you don’t get a clear list of ingredients at the start of the recipe, which would really help to set things up and understand the dish. Instead, it’s like getting the back of a can with a bunch of prepped ingredients, some together and some not. So, I’ll think twice before trying this again. It’s just more complicated than it needs to be.

"Incredible Experience"
Incredible! I've only tried the first couple of meals from the box up to now, but I'm truly impressed by how tasty it is. It's super well-seasoned and easy to whip up. My only gripe is that you don’t receive the complete recipe. I’d really like to be able to jot down some of the recipes, and I reckon it wouldn’t hurt the company’s sales, since folks would still grab the boxes for the convenience.

"Simple to make and tasty meals"
Simple to make and tasty meals. I didn’t rate it 5 stars just because the menu is entirely in Danish, and I have to translate it. A lot of times, I don’t get everything due to the language barrier. Occasionally, I find myself puzzled about the preparation steps. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with the service.

"Absolutely fantastic"
Absolutely fantastic! I’ve sampled a bunch of meal kits (Aarstiderne, Hello Fresh) and none come anywhere near Simple Feast! If you’re not a vegan, don’t worry. It’s incredible and totally worth every penny. I’m never looking back 😁

"Extremely Displeased"
I didn’t sign up for any subscription when I first gave it a shot, but the system went ahead and did it without my okay. When I caught on to what was happening, I was initially willing to go along with it, but all the options were loaded with gluten and soy. As someone who can't have those, the food would just end up in the bin. So, I reached out to customer service to explain my predicament. They informed me that they couldn’t cancel the delivery set for Sunday since the meals are prepped on Wednesday, but they could send it to someone else if needed. I wasn’t keen on that idea at first. However, I felt it was wasteful to toss the food, so I called back within two hours to see if I could at least pass it to a friend. This time, they told me it wasn’t an option, even though the previous rep had said it was. I was really let down by the service I received.
Here are my thoughts overall:
- The packaging and design are quite appealing, and it’s quick to get ready.
- The food tends to be on the salty side.
- The meals arrive pretty much ready to eat, which means if you’re having a dish on Wednesday, it’s already a week old, so it’s not super fresh.
- Customer service seems to lack consistent protocols; it really varies depending on who you get on the line, and in my view, they aren’t very helpful.

"Definitely Worth It"
Flavor: 4 stars
The veggies are fresh, and the main courses are seasoned just right and delicious. You get a solid mix of meals each week, plus you can pick which ones you want. Personally, I've chosen to skip the tomato-based options since they can be a tad too tangy and over-seasoned for my taste. But hey, that's just how it goes! The best part is that there's something for everyone on the menu.
DIY Cooking: 4 stars
Some items on the menu do take a bit of time to whip up. For instance, the side dishes (salads) need washing, chopping, and seasoning. The quesadillas require prep and baking, and you’ve got to cook the rice or noodles yourself. I don’t mind these extra steps; they let you personalize the meals a bit and make it feel more like a "home-cooked" experience.
Most meals can be ready in about 15 minutes.
Packaging: 1 star
Simple Feast says they’re all about being eco-friendly, but I don’t see that in how the meals are packaged. If you’re on the 2-3 people plan, you usually get around 10-15 packages. Typically, there are 3 plastic boxes with fresh parsley (why not just toss it all in one box or a paper bag?). Then, there are another 3 plastic boxes with small bags or containers of salad dressing. Plus, 3-4 plastic boxes for the main dishes (mostly sauces) and at least 3 paper bags for the veggies.
The packaging really needs some work. Simple Feast has mentioned that starting from week 6, they’ll be using containers made from 91% recycled plastic and 9% new plastic. They’re apparently still trying to improve their packaging to offer reusable containers soon. I’ll be giving 5 stars if and when that actually happens! :)
Also, I can’t wrap my head around why they send a box of tap water? I mean, unless you’re getting your meals delivered in the middle of nowhere, we all have tap water at home, right? I’ve never used this water and really wish there was a way to leave it off the menu.
Delivery: 5 stars
Always arrives on time. It’s easy to track where the package is, so you can plan your schedule to be home when it shows up.
